Regional representatives nationwide attended the First iSchools Congress on April 9-11, 2008 at Mimosa Leisure Estate, Angeles City, Pampanga, Philippines.
iSchools is a component of the ICT4BE Program of the Commission on Information and Communications Technology – Human Capital Development Group (CICT-HCDG).
The three-day congress was a success giving a 100% attendance of the participants and through the active interaction of the participants with the resource persons. CICT Commissioner Angelo Timoteo M. Diaz de Rivera showed his support to the project by staying with his team throughout the said congress.
Participants, though, came from different regions, became united with a common goal of integrating ICT in teaching and learning. Also, subject matter experts and field practitioners were invited to share their experiences and research studies related to the congress’ theme “Integrating ICT in Education”.
And the iSchools Project team, lead by Antonette T. Torres, worked hand in hand to achieve this success, though, there were registration problems encountered.
CICT-HCDG and SUCs is now on the stage of planning for Second iSchools Congress to be held on April 2009, Cebu City. Immediately, they formed different committees to be lead by ICT coordinators to handle the next congress.
